Regarding the occurrences in March 2008, we see that there was not only bad news. Since the first presentation of the third GSM operator, Eagle Mobile, the market has changes so much. The Albanian people’s complaints about the GSM telephony tariffs, were almost reaching those of the electric energy. In fact, there was impatience during the expectance of the entrance of Turkish Company belonging to Çalık Energy Group, and there was another feeling that this company would not meet enough the expectations after the privatization process in a value of 120 million Euros. Nevertheless, in the last three or four months we left behind, after an technology investment of 26 million Euros, the Albanian GSM telephony has changed a lot.
These changes deserves to Eagle Mobile, the company staff and its General Director Ali Taşkın.
What was 2008 for Eagle mobile? Let’s listen from the CEO Mr. Ali Taşkın himself:
“it was a historical success. Among all the difficulties, the newest GSM operator in Albania succeeded to enter the telecommunication market strongly. Eagle Mobile finished the 2008 with 258 thousand subscribers, which means almost 10 percent of the market. This success was reached in the last four months of the previous year. Today we cover almost 97 percent of the population. This is the fastest introduction in the world in a telecommunication market”.
Indisputable success of the Proring and Riniring offers is dedicated to the low tariffs and the extra services the Company offered, like internet and mtv service in the cell phone device., which has pushed the other operator companies to the “client attracting race” . Meanwhile, the company beside the consecutive promoting campaigns undertook likewise the social enterprises which infer that it is just the beginning of Eagle Mobile’s work. That’s why some of the problems of the services’ soft are understandable. Meanwhile, Eagle Mobile’s guys underline that these problems are being organized. But, how the 2009 will be?
