Japanese Princess Met with The Business World

Princess of Japan Akiko Mikasa met with the Turkish business world on the occasion of her acceptance of the honorary presidency of the Prince Mikasa Foundation, which conducts several projects in Turkey with a view to supporting the historic values of Anatolia and its archaeological development.

Altes Princess Akiko underlined Turkey’s special place for her and said “It is flattering to take on the post of honorary presidency in this foundation, which 3 generations of Mikasa family my grandfather, my father and I enamored” and thanked Turkish businessmen for his contributions to the ceremony.

Then, Çalık Holding Chairman Ahmet Çalık emphasized on the value of the friendship between the two deep-seated and profound cultures that has developed since they met nearly 130 years ago and stated that the convergence of Japan and Turkey has led to the development of many collaborations not only in the political and commercial sense but also culturally and historically. Continued his words by saying “The excavations at Kaman Kalehöyük conducted by distinguished Professor Omura both contribute greatly to the cultural accumulation of Anatolia and it plays an important role in introducing this culture to the world” Çalık presented the Princess with a plaque in commemoration of the day.
