BKT Albania
In 2009, Çalık Group became the sole owner of Banka Kombëtare Tregtare, which was established in 1925 as the most deep-rooted banks of Albania and acquired by 60% by Çalık Group in 2006. As of 2014, the country's largest bank BKT Albania increased its market share to 25% and became the bank with the highest market share among Turkish banks abroad. BKT Albania continues to serve over 930,000 customers through 63 branches, 125 ATMs, and 9,631 POS terminals.
The company’s corporate strategy has been defined as effective asset-liability management to strengthen its deposit base as a ‘symbol of trust in the country,’ focus on retail and commercial loans, maintain a cautious stance on corporate lending, mitigate risks and fluctuations, and maximize profit.
BKT boasts the most extensive range of digital services and card business in the Albanian market and through its cutting-edge technology is substantially leading the digital transformation of the Albanian banking market.
Currently BKT serves approximately 1 million customers, in a wide network of 62 branches, 161 Smart ATMs and 10,000 POS terminals.
